3 MUST-HAVE Traits To Longevity and Weight Loss!
Susan Rodriguez
What do those who live to be 100 years or more have in common? If you guessed that they all have a chance of being on the back of a jelly jar on The Today Show with Willard Scott you're right. But they have a few more traits as well.
Three more traits to be exact -- and they're all related to their blood. You probably won't find many nutritionists or even doctors laying all of these factors out for you at the same time. But more physicians should.
And I know, you're already working hard on your weight issue. And that's great! But it's good to step back a moment and change your focus from the small details of your quest and look at the larger picture. Sometimes doing this puts things in perspective and helps us to get back on track. And that's just what I'm doing by providing you with these three must-have traits to live a healthy, energetic life -- free from weight issues. Sounds like utopia, doesn't it?
Just about to a person, each individual who reaches 100 years and beyond has low blood sugar, low triglycerides and low insulin levels. And take special notice of that single word that describes them as "low." In fact, the medical community is now discovering that the level of insulin sensitivity of your cells is by far one of the most important biomarkers for a long lifespan. (Did you hear that?)
And, if, in the process, you can keep your weight under control -- so much the better. But there's some wonderful news regarding this. Because, when those three traits are met, you'll actually discover great news. .. . your weight becomes much less of a struggle.
It's true! To understand all of this, let's take a little closer look this phenomenon. Controlling your insulin levels may be the most important step you can take in an overall anti-aging strategy. Foods that possess an abundance of sugar and grains cause your body to produce insulin -- usually more insulin than you body can handle. And this is without a doubt, the largest physical cause of accelerated aging.
Interested in slowing down the aging process? Then change your habit of eating grains -- and choose greens instead. A low-grain, no-sugar healthy eating plan is the most effective method to lower your insulin levels. And this is the perfect prescription for weight loss
Want to make this even more effective, though? Add aerobic exercise! If you can get your heart pumping to approximately 75 percent of its maximum rate -- and keep it up there for at least 45 minutes -- five times a week you're really rocking.
Now, are we going to see your face on the Smucker's jar on The Today Show when you reach 100? I didn't think so. You'll be far too busy enjoying life!
