What Is The Best Type of Fat Burning Exercise

Cliff Baker

You're probably one of the many people who think that fat burning exercise exists only in the form of cardiovascular exercises, which requires spending hours on treadmills and elliptical machines. Then again, cardiovascular exercise is only one part of a truly effective fat burning training program. The truth is that weight training supersedes cardio when it comes to fat burning training.

For most people, weight training is only for bodybuilders, but this is wrong. However, if you want to reshape your body and achieve a sculpted and lean physique, you must include intense resistance training in your workout regime.

Although it is important to focus on directly burning fat, you must also build lean muscle when following an overall training program. In order to build and maintain lean muscle mass, weight training is the key.

Mitochondria: The Fat Buster

Nutrients are converted into energy by the mitochondria found in your muscle fibers; for this reason, mitochondria are an important aspect of fat loss. Weight training can induce an increase in the amount of mitochondria in your muscle fibers. With the increase in the amount of mitochondria in your muscle tissue, your body can burn fat more quickly and easily.

As a result, your body will burn more fat for fuel during exercise and your resting metabolic rate will also increase. Consequently, your body will burn fat all through the day, irrespective of whether you are in the middle of an intense workout or just resting. Weight training is important to your fat burning training. Why? It helps you build more muscle, which, in turn, leads to greater overall fat loss.

Resistance Training Is Important for Effective Fat Burning Training. Here’s why….

Optimal long-term results will require both cardiovascular exercise and resistance training as part of your fat burning training routine. Of course proper nutrition is essential for a healthy lifestyle and an effective fat loss program, but it’s not enough on its own.

When you diet without exercising, you are actually losing important muscle tissue. Loss of muscle tissue can slow down metabolism, because the body’s metabolic rate is affected by muscle tissue. With a slower metabolism, your body will be unable to effectively burn fat. The secret to building lean muscle and raising your metabolism lies in combining proper nutrition with resistance training and cardiovascular exercise.

You can verify this theory by stepping into your local gym. Look at the people with the most impressive bodies. Most likely you’ll notice that such people perform both cardiovascular exercises and weight training as part of their fat burning training program.

Alternatively, you’ll also notice people who stick mainly to cardio machines, but they are seldom able to lose any fat. These people have bought into the false notion that cardiovascular exercise alone can burn fat.

By simply adding some good weight training exercises to their fat burning training program, these people can finally see the results that they want.
