Is Positive Thinking the Fastest Way to Lose Fat?

Cliff Baker

Losing fat quickly does not involve starving yourself. Unfortunately, many of the so-called miracle diets advise this. Below are some of the risks of a ‘starving yourself’ diet.

  • The absence of proper nutrition has a negative impact on your health and wellbeing

  • Your body goes into a starvation mode, causing it to store more fat when you eat next time

  • Your body’s metabolic rate drops considerably and you start to lose muscle mass, which is not healthy weight loss

Also, you are very unlikely to be able to follow these diets over a long period of time (thankfully). So when you get off such a diet, what happens? You gain more weight than before …the rebound.

So, what are the fastest and most effective ways to lose weight?

You need to focus on what is the healthiest way to lose weight and body fat, instead of focusing on just the fastest way to lose fat. You need to focus on thinking positively and believing that you will lose weight and fat and keep it off, with the appropriate amount of time and effort. Remember, it most likely took you years to put that weight on.

An active exercise program can help you develop a positive attitude and personal development can also help hugely. Endorphins, the “feel good” chemicals in the brain, are released during exercise. When released, this “good feeling” encourages positive thinking. The fastest way to lose fat is to perform exercises like running, cycling, and weight lifting, all of which result in a release of endorphins.

You feel better when endorphins are released, and they also make you want to eat less. You’ll get accustomed to the “exercise high” that comes from the release of endorphins, making you feel happy about the activities that you are doing and making you want to exercise on a regular basis.

Eating healthy and nutritious foods also helps with positive thinking, as it does not make you feel bloated and fat. Hunger can cause negative responses that are triggered in the brain. These negative emotions can be suppressed by eating at least 5 to 7 meals everyday. Eating more smaller meals, more often can also be the fastest way to lose fat.

One aspect of having a positive attitude is to know deep inside that you will soon be slim. Try the visualization technique. Create a mental picture of your body burning fat when you next exercise. Visualization when combined with healthy nutrition and exercise is a very powerful technique, and it is definitely the fastest way to lose fat.

Paint a mental picture of yourself at the size you want to be, and imagine that you are buying clothes that are not labeled XXL. This will motivate you during rough patches and help you to maintain a positive attitude.

There is more to this battle than just losing weight. It’s not worthwhile to lose weight if you can’t keep it off. Positive thinking plays a vital role here as well. It keeps your motivation level high, helping you to stick with your diet and exercise program.

You can lose weight by thinking positively, but you also need proper exercise and nutrition to win the battle of the bulge.
