Dr. Eric Serrano - Health and Fitness Detective:
He'll Uncover The Block To Your Weight Loss

Susan Rodriguez

Just call him the Sherlock Holmes of the medical community. He’s one sleuth who’s scouting out the reasons why you aren’t burning the fat or building the muscle like you use to be. Does the word stress ring a bell?

Many call him controversial, others call him a godsend. But when it comes to sports nutrition and supplementation, he's the go-to man if you feel your best efforts aren't working.

His name is Dr. Eric Serrano. And he's a virtual detective when it comes to deciphering blockages in your diet and fitness needs. He's hailed by his colleagues and his patients alike as being a remarkable resource on a wide variety of health-related issues, from training to nutrition to your very personal circumstances.

Does the last one surprise you? It shouldn't. We all know our personal lives can play havoc with our nerves -- and events at home and on the job can stress you out. Stress, as Dr. Serrano, so readily points out, has a very real effect on your physical well being -- or on your physical ills, ailments and other conditions.

In this case -- the problem of stress for example -- it could be the one overlooked item that is throwing a roadblock in your weight loss plans. Even if you've visited your personal health care physician . . . even if you did ask in passing about your personal life . . . it's doubtful that he dug as deep as Detective . . . uhm Dr. Serrano.

Most doctors and fitness experts scan only an individual's training program, pronounce it as satisfactory and leave the person feeling as helpless and hopeless as before he consulted with the professional. Dr. Serrano says that's not enough. "They don't look at your sleeping habits," he said in a recent interview. Or they don't ask personal questions like "Are you married with kids? Are you dating someone behind your wife's back? Are you working?"

These are all important factors that play into a person's over stress level -- sometimes even more important than his training record.

But, according to Dr. Serrano, there is a method available to measure cortisol level, in fact several of them. And using this, he can tell you exactly where your roadblocks lie. If you're stressed because you're overtraining it will appear in the blood test for cortisol levels.

"I discovered [a] ratio after reviewing a number of research papers," he said. Adding, "But it's my little secret."

Not only is the ratio his professional secret, but the novel treatment is also unique to him. One of his most effective ways of treating excessive cortisol is through the use of adding the precise proportion of exogenous cortisone to his system. He insists that this method "can help lower their endogenous cortisol production significantly through feedback inhibition."

Basically, he confessed, "It’s a way of tricking the body."

This health detective has a few tricks of his own up his sleeve it seems that may help you not only identify the roadblocks to the proper burning of fat and building muscles in your current exercise regimen. But he may also be able to point to the problems in your personal life that are also blocking your total health.
