This Is Your Blood On Fast Food!

Cliff Baker

Yes! Yes! You say as your doctor warns you for the umpteenth time about the dangers of fast food. You're only half listening; you're late for your weekly date with those fish and chips.

But you nod your head politely. You are well aware of the dangers. But those chips are calling your name. How could you possibly disappoint them?

Everywhere you turn -- on the internet, in the health magazines you read, even your daily newspapers -- scream at you about the dangers of trans fatty acids, saturated fats, fried foods and simple carbohydrates.

We certainly are hearing the message, but are we really listening?

Oh yes, how many of us have joked as we sit down to a totally unhealthy meal, "Shh! Listen I can even hear my arteries clogging." And we thought we were funny.

Until now.

Now that joke seems pretty scary. It turns out that the joke is much closer to the truth than you'd ever dream of. It appears now you really can hear your arteries clogging -- if you have the right equipment.

Recently, a Canadian television health reporter followed an individual in an eye-opening, truly astonishing experience -- a view of your arteries and your blood after you've eaten a fast food meal.

Here's what was involved: the reporter and camera crew followed a person who had his blood drawn prior to sitting down to eat a fast food meal. Additionally, the laboratory also took an ultrasound of his blood before he ate.

Two hours after his dining experience, he again had an ultrasound and another sample of his blood was taken.

Now, I could very easily describe what happened here. But believe me that would not be nearly as dramatic . . . astounding . . and downright eye-opening as actually seeing the difference in the two blood samples. If I told you the difference in appearance, in sound would not make you sit up and take notice.

Trust me, I've read just about everything there is to read in the last several years about arteries . . . triglycerides . . cholesterol . . . and how hard your blood must work when laden with these fats.

But absolutely nothing I've ever read prepared me for this. This video clip will have you running -- not walking -- to your nearest grocery store to stock up on healthy foods.

Check out this video right now, then go out for a quick jog or a bike ride.
