At 32, I decided it was about time to get myself in shape as I was skinny, therefore putting me in the minority. So…I joined a gym, or health club as they also call them and started weight training. Cliff's PhotoAs I didn’t want to waste my time I got interested in what I was doing and started researching the benefits of exercising with weights, or resistance training. I learnt all the correct techniques for the exercises, especially those using ‘free weights’, i.e. dumbbells and barbells. After researching those techniques I noticed that many people were using very poor form when performing the exercises, they (especially the men) appeared to be more interested in how much they could lift and were often, not using good technique.

While researching exercise, I also learned that what you put in your body, i.e. food, is equally, as important as the exercise you do. I then got interested in nutrition and started researching about the body's need for proper food and nutrition.

Due to the great emphasis on the majority of weight loss sites out there in "www" land on just "Weight Loss" and not fat loss, I decided to create The Fat Burner to try and educate people that it is "Fat Loss" we should be concentrating on and NOT just relying on what the scales tells you. Also there is so much promotion of fad diets and weight loss pills, of which none work, at least long term. Losing body fat and weight is one thing, but keeping it off long term is totally different.
